1. Design and Planning
- Design and review HVAC systems, including ducting, piping, and equipment layouts based on project requirements and standards.
- Calculate heating/cooling loads, airflow rates, and equipment capacities.
- Select suitable HVAC equipment (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, etc.) according to design specifications.
- Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities), technical specifications, and material submittals.
- Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, and plumbing teams to ensure system integration.
2. Site Execution and Supervision
- Supervise the installation of HVAC systems as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor ducting, piping, insulation, and equipment installation activities.
- Ensure that all HVAC works comply with safety and quality standards.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and technicians for daily site progress.
- Conduct inspections and verify work progress in line with project schedules.
3. Testing and Commissioning
- Plan and perform testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) of HVAC systems.
- Conduct system performance tests for chillers, AHUs, FCUs, and ventilation systems.
- Verify that HVAC systems meet design requirements and operational efficiency.
- Prepare commissioning reports and ensure proper documentation of test results.
4. Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to HVAC systems (mechanical or control problems).
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans for installed systems.
- Monitor system performance and recommend energy-efficient improvements.
5. Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports for project management.
- Maintain detailed as-built drawings and update records after project completion.
- Submit inspection requests (IRs), material delivery reports, and site progress updates.
- Document commissioning results and handover packages.
6. Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all HVAC works follow safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Verify compliance with local codes, ASHRAE standards, and project specifications.
- Conduct site toolbox talks and risk assessments for HVAC activities.
7. Coordination and Communication
- Liaise with consultants, contractors, and clients for approvals and clarifications.
- Attend site coordination meetings and resolve technical issues.
- Support procurement and logistics teams in sourcing HVAC materials and equipment.
