Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the procedures of the program are followed by staff through providing data ticketing, maintaining accurate reports, submission of pertinent data, and reviewing performance and engagement of team members.

All activities must support the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers (“HACFM” or “Authority”) mission, strategic goals, and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties and skills may be required and assigned, as needed.

The HCV Data Analyst is responsible for:

  • Submitting PIC/HIP date to HUD
  • Assigning and tracking caseloads for Housing Specialists
  • Purging and maintaining waitlist for assistance
  • Acquire, clean, and validate large datasets from multiple sources.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Excel and Power BI to track KPIs and operational trends.
  • Build automated reporting pipelines for recurring business needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and interpret results.
  • Present findings in a clear, structured manner to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Maintain data documentation, metadata, and data quality procedures.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
  • Support special projects.
  • Any other duties assigned by HCV Director

The HCV Data Analyst must be able to:

  • Understand, follow, and track HCV Regulations
  • Perform descriptive and diagnostic analyses to identify patterns, anomalies, and root causes
  • Answer phone calls & emails in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate strong organizational & leadership skills
  • Provide support and feedback to supervisor
  • Successfully work within a team
  • Work within HACFM’s and HUD’s timelines and guidelines
  • Follow Federal, State, and Local regulations

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in data analysis or a related field (optional depending on your needs).
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and SQL.
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and data modeling.
  • Ability to interpret complex datasets and present insights clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills.

Must obtain an HCV Specialist Certification within one year of starting position.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Authority’s plan.

Technical Skills

  • Data Analysis Tools: Excel (advanced formulas, PivotTables, Power Query)
  • Business Intelligence Platforms: Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar BI tools
  • Databases & Querying: SQL (joins, subqueries, data manipulation), familiarity with relational databases
  • Programming Languages
  • Data Modeling: Ability to design and maintain data models, star/snowflake schema understanding
  • ETL Processes: Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading workflows
  • Data Visualization: Ability to create dashboards, reports, and visual presentations of complex data
  • Reporting Tools: Power BI Service, SSRS, or other automated reporting systems
  • Data Quality & Validation: Experience with data cleansing, de-duplication, and integrity checks
  • Statistical Analysis: Basic statistical methods
  • Cloud Platforms (if needed): Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud analytics tools
  • CRM/ERP Systems: Experience pulling and analyzing data from enterprise systems (Salesforce, Dynamics, SACS, Yardi, etc.)
