The Head Barista leads the coffee operations of the café, ensuring high beverage quality, excellent customer service, and proper team supervision. This role combines coffee expertise, staff training, and daily operational support.
Key Responsibilities
Coffee Preparation & Quality Control
- Prepare espresso-based drinks and specialty beverages to company standards
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
- Adjust grinders, machines, and brewing methods as needed
- Train and mentor baristas on coffee preparation and service standards
- Monitor staff performance and provide coaching when required
- Prepare shift schedules and assign bar duties
Operations & Stock Control
- Monitor stock levels of beans, milk, syrups, and supplies
- Coordinate ordering and minimize wastage
- Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment
Customer Service
- Deliver excellent guest experience and handle complaints professionally
- Support service flow during peak hours
- Maintain a welcoming café atmosphere
Compliance & Hygiene
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards are followed
- Maintain daily checklists, logs, and operational reports
