Job Description
The Head Coach is responsible for leading, managing, and developing the coaching team while ensuring high standards of training, performance, safety, and member experience. This role oversees coaching programs, enforces company policies (including uniform and conduct), and works closely with management to deliver consistent, high quality services aligned with the organization's goals.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Supervise and manage daily operations of all branches (remote meetings for properties that are not accessible).
- Recruit, train, and oversee fitness coaches falling under the Groups umbrella.
- Develop and implement fitness programs and schedules.
- Deliver a minimum of 32 group classes per month as part of regular duties.
- Ensure all fitness equipment is properly maintained and operational and immediately report any faults, damages, or maintenance needs to management.
- Manage member relations and handle customer complaints regarding coaches or class delivery.
- Conduct regular staff meetings with all coaches alongside the branch managers.
- Monitor and manage the class schedule to ensure classes are fairly distributed between coaches.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations for all fitness equipment and class activities.
- Maintain accurate records of membership and attendance alongside the internal software (CRM, Zoho, Gantner) and branch managers.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client needs when brought forward from the branch managers.
- Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the facilities, with the assistance of the branch managers, and raise any concerns immediately to facilities management and housekeeping.
- Maintain and store the trainers' certifications that fall under the Groups umbrella in collaboration with HR.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (attendance, class utilization, retention rates) and provide monthly performance reports to management.
- Report all attendance, behavioral, or disciplinary concerns to HR immediately.
- Document any shortfalls on the coaching team in Asana for HR follow up.
- Coordinate with assistant head coaches to delegate day to day tasks, ensure consistency across all branches, and maintain smooth communication between branches.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the coaching team and management/HR for escalations and operational updates.
- Support marketing initiatives by providing input on new programs or activations when required.
