Head Football Coach

Job Overview

The Head of Football is responsible for leading and developing the football program at PSA Academy. This role oversees coaching standards, player development pathways, competition participation, and overall program growth. The Head of Football will ensure that training methodology, league participation, and player progression meet high professional standards while aligning with the academy’s vision.

Key Responsibilities1. Football Program Leadership

  • Design and implement the academy’s football development philosophy and curriculum across all age groups.
  • Oversee the structure of teams from recreational to competitive levels.
  • Ensure consistent coaching methodology across all venues and coaches.
  • Monitor training quality and maintain high technical standards.

2. League & Competition Management

  • Manage and coordinate participation in local and regional leagues, tournaments, and competitions.
  • Register teams and players for official competitions.
  • Plan season schedules, match calendars, and team structures.
  • Ensure teams are properly prepared tactically and physically for competitions.
  • Coordinate logistics for matches including squads, venues, referees, and communication with parents.

3. Player Development Pathway

  • Develop clear player progression pathways from beginner to elite levels.
  • Implement player assessments and performance tracking.
  • Identify talented players for advanced training groups or competitive teams.
  • Support player exposure to higher level competitions when appropriate.

4. Coaching Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise football coaches.
  • Conduct regular coach evaluations and development workshops.
  • Ensure coaches follow the academy curriculum and maintain session quality.
  • Provide mentorship and tactical guidance to coaching staff.

5. Operations & Administration

  • Coordinate schedules for training sessions across academy venues.
  • Work closely with the admin team regarding registrations, team assignments, and communication.
  • Maintain accurate records of players, teams, and competition participation.
  • Ensure compliance with academy policies and safety standards.

6. Parent & Player Communication

  • Communicate with parents regarding teams, competitions, development, and expectations.
  • Conduct player evaluations and provide feedback when required.
  • Promote a positive academy culture focused on development, discipline, and enjoyment.

7. Academy Growth & Representation

  • Represent the academy in meetings with leagues, federations, and partner clubs.
  • Support marketing initiatives such as trials, camps, tournaments, and community events.
  • Help grow the football program through strong reputation and results.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in football coaching or academy management.
  • Experience managing youth teams in leagues and competitive tournaments.
  • Recognized coaching certification (UEFA / AFC / FA or equivalent preferred).
  • Experience leading coaching teams and managing multi-age programs.
  • Strong knowledge of youth player development models.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Reporting To: Academy Director / General Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED5,500.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
