Company Overview
Our client is one of the largest Global Indian Corporate Groups in the manufacturing of heavy engineering equipment, with a Group turnover exceeding ₹4,000 Crores and multi-locational operations across India and overseas. The company operates a state-of-the-art foundry for steel castings with 500 MT capacity, catering to domestic and global customers.
Position: Head – Foundry Operations
Location: Kolhapur, Maharashtra
Qualification: B.E. – Metallurgy / Mechanical / Production
Experience: 20–25 years in steel foundry operations / heavy engineering casting industry
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end foundry operations for steel castings (up to 500 MT).
- Ensure high-quality production with adherence to international casting standards.
- Drive productivity, process optimization, and cost-efficiency in foundry operations.
- Manage melting, molding, fettling, and heat treatment processes effectively.
- Oversee maintenance of foundry equipment, furnaces, and related utilities.
- Implement best practices in safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Lead a large workforce, ensuring skill development and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and marketing teams for new product development.
- Develop and execute strategies for capacity utilization, process improvement, and waste reduction.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Candidate Profile
- 20–25 years of progressive experience in steel foundry operations with exposure to large-scale heavy castings.
- Strong technical expertise in steel metallurgy, process engineering, and foundry management.
- Proven leadership in managing large teams and multi-shift foundry operations.
- Exposure to modern foundry practices (automation, process digitization, lean manufacturing).
- Excellent knowledge of quality standards, NDT, and metallurgical testing.
- Strong commercial and strategic mindset to improve cost efficiency and competitiveness.
