Heat Treatment Operator

Job Purpose

To carry out heat treatment operations on steel castings as per specified procedures and standards, ensuring product quality, safety, and efficiency.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor heat treatment furnaces (annealing, normalizing, quenching, tempering, etc.).
• Follow heat treatment cycles as per process sheets, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Load and unload castings into/from furnaces safely, using proper handling equipment.
• Record furnace parameters (temperature, time, cooling rate) accurately in log sheets.
• Ensure proper use of quenching media (water, oil, polymer) and maintain their condition.
• Conduct hardness checks and basic inspection to confirm heat treatment results.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, deviations, or abnormalities to the supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area, adhering to foundry safety protocols.
• Assist in routine maintenance and calibration of heat treatment equipment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in the heat treatment section.

Qualifications & Skills

• ITI/Diploma in Metallurgy/Mechanical or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in a foundry or heat treatment shop is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of steel grades and heat treatment processes.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and process sheets.
• Awareness of safety practices while handling hot parts and quenching operations.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹23,000.00 - ₹27,000.00 per month
