To support our continued expansion in South Asia, we are seeking a seasoned and strategic Legal Head/Advisor to lead our legal function and ensure the company’s operations comply with applicable laws and regulations in India. The ideal candidate will provide expert legal counsel, mitigate risks, and support business objectives through reliable legal strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy and Compliance

  • Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Indian laws, including corporate, labour, and other statutory regulations.
  • Monitor changes in legislation from time to time and advise management board on necessary actions.

Contract Management

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, NDAs, MoUs, and service agreements.
  • Maintain a centralized contract repository and ensure timely renewals and compliance.

Litigation and Dispute Resolution

  • Manage and oversee all litigation matters, including civil, criminal, labour, and arbitration cases.
  • Liaise with external counsel and represent the company in legal proceedings when necessary.

Corporate Governance

  • Advise the Management Board and senior management on corporate governance best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Companies Act and other statutory requirements.

Risk Management

  • Review and identify potential legal risks in RFPs and advise on mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct internal legal audits and ensure robust risk controls are in place.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal departments (HR, Finance, Operations, etc.) to provide legal support.
  • Maintain relationships with regulators, external legal advisors, and industry bodies.
  • Support the integration actions between CBRE and T&T from the Legal & Compliance perspective.

Qualifications


Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B.) from a recognized university; LL.M. preferred.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a corporate legal department.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian corporate, commercial, labour and regulatory laws.
  • Experience in handling litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to inspire, influence, and lead teams.

  • Prior experience working within a global consultancy or with multinational companies.
