We are seeking a highly capable legal leader to guide the organization on complex commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters. This role requires a business-minded legal expert who can confidently partner with senior stakeholders to support strategic decisions, negotiate high-value agreements, and ensure adherence to evolving UK and EU regulatory expectations. You will play a critical role in strengthening governance, reducing risk, and enabling the company to scale confidently in a fast-paced and regulated environment.
Core Responsibilities
Drive commercial contracting processes from initial draft to final negotiation for a wide range of commercial agreements and vendor partnerships.
Serve as the primary advisor to internal teams on legal risks, regulatory implications, and compliance best practices.
Interpret and operationalize UK & EU regulatory frameworks—including GDPR, DORA, PRA, and industry-specific legislation—into actionable business policies.
Create and continuously refine legal workflows, documentation templates, and standardized procedures to improve efficiency across the business.
Assess potential legal risks proactively and design strategies to mitigate exposure across commercial and operational areas.
Collaborate closely with executive leadership to support commercial initiatives and align contract terms with company goals.
Drive governance improvements by embedding legal consistency, clarity, and strong documentation practices across teams.
Deliver practical legal education to business stakeholders, making laws and regulatory requirements easy to understand and apply.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Significant experience leading commercial negotiations and managing complex contract portfolios.
Previous success working in an in-house legal capacity within technology, financial services, consulting, or other regulated environments.
Deep understanding of UK & EU regulatory frameworks and hands-on experience implementing compliance expectations in business operations.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present legal positions clearly while balancing business realities.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of independently managing priorities and deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, solve problems, and influence internal decision-making.
Thrives in dynamic, high-growth environments where responsibilities evolve rapidly.
