We manage and mitigate risk and deliver quality insurance products and services to protect the company’s employees, assets and liabilities and to meet its contractual obligations to customers across the group. As our business keeps growing, we want you in our EMEA region.

Ready to immerse yourself in the exciting world of IRM? Join the team and bring your expertise on board! As part of the DHL Group, you will be working with a global network of IRM colleagues and benefit from a wide range of development opportunities.

Job Purpose:

As Head of Customer Insurance MEA, you will lead the development and performance of IRM’s customer insurance sales organization across the Middle East and Africa region. Working in close alignment with IRM London management and DHL Business Units, you will drive growth through the sale of customer insurance solutions and extended liability terms to DHL customers and prospects.

You will maintain and expand existing business by developing competitive, compliant, and innovative insurance products and solutions that deliver outstanding value to our customers and strengthen DHL’s market position. A key part of your role is to ensure strong collaboration with underwriters, fronting insurers, and internal stakeholders to ensure our offerings are fit-for-purpose, fully compliant, and available across all sales channels.

You will also lead the training, enablement, and performance of the customer insurance sales force, ensuring consistent delivery of superior after-sales and claims experiences in partnership with IRM’s MEA Claims team in London.

Your tasks:

  • Build and lead a strong customer insurance sales and distribution organization across the MEA region, in close collaboration with DHL Business Units.
  • Drive sustainable growth by increasing insurance premiums, policy placements, and customer penetration rates.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with insurers, brokers, and partners to expand IRM’s regional capabilities and product reach.
  • Ensure product consistency across the group while leading new solution development for key customer segments such as perishables, healthcare, and high-value goods.
  • Deliver sales enablement and training programs to upskill regional teams and embed customer insurance expertise across all commercial functions.
  • Provide strategic guidance on pricing, risk transfer, and product positioning, ensuring competitiveness within global parameters.
  • Oversee sales performance, reporting, and P&L outcomes, ensuring profitability and alignment with business targets.
  • Ensure full compliance with local insurance and tax regulations, advising on licensing and registration requirements in collaboration with IRM Compliance.
  • Support the integration and optimization of digital systems and tools to enhance insurance sales, documentation, and claims management processes.
  • Collaborate closely with global and regional IRM teams to align strategies, share insights, and continuously improve customer insurance performance across markets.

Your profile:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience leading a Middle East & Africa (MEA) cargo insurance sales or business development organization within a logistics company, insurer, or insurance broker.
  • Strong understanding of global cargo insurance program structures, with experience managing fronting insurance arrangements and regional distribution networks.
  • Solid knowledge of the transport and freight forwarding industry, including the sale and placement of cargo insurance solutions.
  • Proven track record of driving business growth, increasing premium volumes, and expanding market share.
  • Deep technical expertise in marine cargo insurance — including product design, policy clauses, pricing, and claims handling.
  • Demonstrated hands-on sales experience, engaging directly with customers to win business.
  • Advanced computer literacy, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across cultures and organizational levels.
  • Highly motivated, results-driven, and comfortable leading in an international, fast-paced, and dynamic business environment.

We offer:

  • Great opportunity to work for the biggest logistics company in the world
  • International and virtual environment
  • Flexibility and great opportunity to learn
  • Tempting Compensation and benefits
