Qualifications Required

  • PhD / Pursuing PhD in English (preferred)
  • Master’s Degree (MA) and Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in English
  • Additional Certifications: CELTA / TEFL / TESOL certification highly preferred
  • Strong academic record with demonstrated subject mastery

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 10 years of teaching experience in English at school or higher-education level
  • At least 3–5 years of academic leadership/coordination experience (preferred)
  • Proven expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and classroom-management skills
  • Ability to lead academic initiatives, teacher training, and quality-improvement processes

Roles & ResponsibilitiesAcademic Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership to the English Department
  • Oversee curriculum planning, implementation, and periodic revision
  • Ensure alignment of teaching methodologies with NEP/board requirements

Teaching & Learning

  • Conduct high-quality classes as per academic standards
  • Implement innovative teaching practices, including activity-based and experiential learning
  • Monitor student performance and design improvement plans

Faculty Management

  • Guide, mentor, and evaluate English faculty members
  • Conduct training sessions, workshops, and skill-enhancement programs for teachers
  • Assist in recruitment of English teaching staff

Academic Administration

  • Prepare timetables, academic calendars, and examination plans
  • Review and update lesson plans, assessments, and learning materials
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies and academic norms

Quality Assurance

  • Monitor teaching standards through classroom observations
  • Conduct regular departmental meetings and maintain documentation
  • Lead initiatives to improve academic results and student engagement
