Job Title: Head of Design
Role Overview
The Head of Design will lead the creative vision and execution across all product categories, ensuring the brand’s signature aesthetic is consistently elevated and commercially successful. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on creative direction, overseeing the design team while collaborating closely with merchandising, production, and marketing to deliver cohesive, customer-loved collections.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Leadership

Define and evolve the overall design vision in alignment with the Founder’s direction and brand identity

Ensure consistency across all categories, including ready-to-wear, sleepwear, and home

Lead concept development from inspiration through final product
Team Management

Directly manage and mentor a team of 4:

Print Designer

Sweaters Designer

Foster a collaborative, high-performance, and creative team culture

Provide regular feedback, professional development, and performance management
Product Development & Execution

Oversee seasonal design calendars and ensure timely delivery of collections

Partner with merchandising to align product assortment with business goals

Work closely with production and technical teams to ensure quality, fit, and cost targets are met
Print & Textile Direction

Guide the development of original prints and textiles, ensuring they align with the brand’s feminine, romantic aesthetic

Collaborate closely with the Print Designer to create distinctive, ownable patterns
Knitwear & Category Oversight

Supervise sweater and knitwear design to ensure innovation and consistency with the broader assortment

Identify opportunities for growth across product categories
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with marketing and brand teams to ensure cohesive storytelling across campaigns and product launches

Support photoshoots, styling direction, and campaign concepts as needed
Trend & Market Insight

Stay ahead of fashion and lifestyle trends, translating them into commercially viable designs

Conduct competitive analysis and customer research to inform design decisions
Qualifications

8–12+ years of experience in fashion or lifestyle design, with leadership experience

Strong portfolio demonstrating a cohesive design aesthetic aligned with the brand

Experience managing and developing design teams

Deep understanding of product development, textiles, and garment construction

Strong organizational and project management skills

Ability to balance creativity with commercial awareness
Salary $195,000 - $250,000
