The Head of Finance will lead and oversee the financial operations of the organization, ensuring robust financial management, compliance, and strategic decision support. This role requires deep experience in the real estate and construction industry, with strong expertise in managing Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Audit, Treasury, and enterprise‐level financial systems. The ideal candidate will also handle all banking matters, including funding, escrow, TAS, mortgage processes, and commission-related payouts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the finance function, including AR, AP, Treasury, General Ledger, and Audit teams.
- Prepare and review financial statements, MIS reports, forecasts, and budgets.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, project funding requirements, and financial KPIs.
- Ensure timely closure of books and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and external partners.
- Oversee fund arrangements, loan processing, mortgage coordination, and ensuring compliance with lender requirements.
- *Supervise escrow accounts, TAS accounts, project funding lines, OD/CC limits, and treasury operations.
- Manage commission payments and ensure correct processing through banks.*
- Lead internal and external audits; ensure statutory, tax, and regulatory compliance.
- Implement strong internal controls across financial processes.
- Oversee RERA-related financial compliances (if applicable).
- Drive annual budgeting, long-term financial planning, and variance analysis.
- Provide financial insights to support management decision-making.
- Evaluate project feasibility, ROI, and financial risk assessments.
- Lead and manage ERP implementation or enhancement projects (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics/Tally ERP, etc.).
- Streamline financial processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and automation.
- Ensure correct integration of finance data with sales, procurement, and project departments.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across AR, AP, Treasury, and Audit.
- Drive a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) / MBA Finance or equivalent professional qualification.
- 10–18 years of experience in finance, preferably with at least 5+ years in real estate or construction industry.
- Proven experience in handling banking operations, escrows, mortgage processes, and project funds.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional finance teams.
- Experience in ERP implementation and digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
