As the
Head of Finance
, you will be responsible for establishing and leading the finance function of our Egypt operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, compliance, and internal controls. The role acts as the key finance partner to the CEO, shaping commercial strategy and ensuring full regulatory compliance, strong financial governance, accurate reporting to the global finance team, and effective management of local financial operations.
This is a hands-on and high-impact leadership role for a commercially astute finance professional focused on setting up the finance function in Egypt, preferably with experience in high-growth fintech or payments environments.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Finance & Leadership

Develop and execute the financial strategy for the Egypt business unit in alignment with global objectives.

Advise the leadership team on financial planning, funding, and investment decisions, providing insightful analysis of financial performance and contributing to strategic decision-making.

Establish the finance function from the ground up; build and lead a high-performing local finance team as the operation scales, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
Financial Operations & Reporting

Develop and oversee the full spectrum of financial operations, including all accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting processes.

Ensure accurate general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, accruals, and closing activities; support consolidation and group reporting requirements as required.

Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders in accordance with applicable local regulations and Group policies.

Ensure compliance with local financial, tax, legal, and regulatory requirements, liaising with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as applicable.
Treasury & Cash Flow

Manage and monitor the company's cash flow to optimize working capital and liquidity, implementing effective cash flow forecasting and reporting processes.

Coordinate with global treasury on funding, intercompany charges, FX exposure, and capital repatriation in line with group policy and local regulations.

Manage relationships with local banks and payment partners, optimizing any FX exposures where applicable.
Risk & Controls

Design, implement, and maintain appropriate internal controls and financial processes, establishing a robust framework that supports operational excellence and scalability.

Monitor and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Implement effective risk management strategies and processes, and mitigate financial and regulatory risks through a robust internal control environment.
Market Entry & Expansion Support

Support entity setup, licensing, and registration with local authorities.

Conduct market analysis, cost modeling, and pricing support for local product offerings.

Support commercial negotiations with vendors, partners, and service providers from a financial perspective.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Product, and Commercial teams to enable successful market penetration.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.

Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA, CA or equivalent), Big 4 experience preferred.

10–15 years of finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.

Proven track record in fintech, payments, or financial services ideally in emerging markets.

In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, tax and accounting principles; experience and strong understanding of Egypt’s financial, tax, and regulatory frameworks preferred.

Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with strong commercial acumen, analytical skills and business partnering capability.

Fluent in English.
