Key Responsibilities
• Lead inclusion provision across the school in line with KHDA’s Inclusion Framework.
• Develop and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure progress tracking for students of determination.
• Coordinate early identification, assessment, and intervention for students with additional needs.
• Embed a culture of inclusive teaching and learning by coaching and training staff in best practice.
• Lead whole-school wellbeing initiatives, supporting students’ emotional resilience, physical health, and social connection.
• Promote and monitor the academic balance and wellbeing of all learners.
• Engage families as partners in inclusion and wellbeing, ensuring transparency and collaboration.
• Liaise with external specialists and agencies to secure support for students where required.
• Ensure safeguarding practices are embedded across all areas of responsibility.
• Report regularly on inclusion and wellbeing provision to the Principal and governing body.
Person Specification
Essential
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or Special Education (Level 6) and recognised teaching qualification.
• Significant leadership experience in inclusion, wellbeing, or student support in primary/middle school settings.
• Demonstrated evidence of measurable impact in improving provision for students of determination.
• Strong understanding of the KHDA Inclusion Framework and UAE regulatory environment.
• Proven ability to coach and develop staff in inclusive practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with cultural sensitivity.
Desirable
• Leadership experience in an international school context.
• Familiarity with international approaches (eg IB) to inclusion and holistic education.
• Experience in school start-ups or transformational change.
• Evidence of leading successful wellbeing frameworks in schools.
• Knowledge of bilingual/multilingual learning contexts.
