Head of Information Technology (IT)

Location: Karachi, Pakistan

Salary Range: PKR 200,000 – 300,000 / month (Commensurate with experience)

Experience: 8+ years of progressive IT experience (with substantial leadership experience)

Shift: Night Shift (US Working Hours)

About the Client: Careers Connect has been retained by a dynamic, fast-growing telecom services and wireless solutions provider to source a visionary and highly technical leader for the position of Head of IT. This organization operates a high-density, 24/7 multi-regional operational framework and is looking for an exceptional professional to spearhead their technological infrastructure, network security, and digital transformation initiatives.

Position Summary: As the Head of IT, you will be the strategic leader overseeing the company’s entire technology ecosystem. You will be responsible for aligning IT infrastructure with rapid business growth, ensuring absolute system uptime, maintaining bulletproof cybersecurity protocols, and provisioning high-performance infrastructure to support multi-shift operations. Reporting to executive leadership, you will drive the technology roadmap that empowers our cross-functional back-office and retail support operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic IT Leadership: Define, develop, and execute a comprehensive IT strategy and roadmap aligned with the organization's aggressive scaling and operational objectives.
  • Infrastructure & Network Availability: Oversee the design, deployment, and management of high-availability network architectures, cloud environments, and communication pipelines optimized for 24/7 service delivery.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance: Implement and maintain robust data protection policies, firewalls, threat detection systems, and disaster recovery protocols to protect sensitive corporate and international retail data.
  • Systems & Automation Integration: Partner with operations, analytics, and HR departments to integrate and optimize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), CRM, and internal workflows.
  • Vendor & Asset Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with global and local technology vendors, ISPs, and software providers while tracking internal IT assets and hardware lifecycles.
  • Support Desk Excellence: Lead, mentor, and build the capacity of a high-performing IT support and systems engineering team capable of delivering rapid tech support across all operational shifts.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. Premium certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ITIL, CCNA/CCNP, AWS/Azure Cloud) are highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of professional IT experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior managerial or head-of-department capacity. Prior experience in high-volume shared services, BPO frameworks, or telecom environments is highly desired.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of modern networking protocols, cloud infrastructure, virtualization, corporate cybersecurity frameworks, and data center management.
  • Operational Agility: Strong problem-solving skills under pressure, with an understanding of how to manage technology infrastructure supporting real-time international retail networks.

Pay: Up to Rs300,000.00 per month
