The Head of Internal Audit is responsible for establishing and leading an independent internal audit function that evaluates and improves the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, governance processes, and operational efficiency across the organization. The role ensures compliance with applicable laws, policies, and industry standards while safeguarding company assets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Internal Audit Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement a risk-based internal audit plan aligned with organizational objectives.
- Establish the Internal Audit function in line with IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) standards.
- Report audit findings, risk exposures, and control gaps to the Board/Audit Committee.
- Provide strategic insights to senior management on governance, risk, and compliance.
2. SOP Development & Process Standardization
- Lead the formation, documentation, and continuous improvement of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) across all departments (production, procurement, supply chain, finance, HR, etc.).
- Ensure SOPs are aligned with best manufacturing practices and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate adherence to SOPs and recommend corrective actions for process deviations.
- Drive process automation and standardization to reduce operational inefficiencies.
3. Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Design and implement a comprehensive internal control framework for all business processes.
- Conduct enterprise-wide risk assessments, including operational, financial, and compliance risks.
- Develop and maintain a risk register and ensure mitigation strategies are implemented.
- Evaluate fraud risks and implement anti-fraud controls and detection mechanisms.
4. Business Continuity & Crisis Management
- Develop and implement a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Framework tailored for manufacturing operations.
- Conduct periodic BCP drills and risk simulations (e.g., supply chain disruption, plant shutdown, system failure).
- Ensure readiness of critical functions (production, logistics, IT systems) under adverse scenarios.
- Continuously update continuity strategies based on emerging risks.
5. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations (SECP, FBR, Sales Tax, Income Tax, Labor Laws, Environmental regulations).
- Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and tax authorities.
- Conduct compliance audits to identify and rectify regulatory gaps.
- Monitor adherence to corporate governance frameworks.
6. Operational & Manufacturing Audits
- Conduct audits of production processes, inventory management, warehousing, and supply chain operations.
- Evaluate cost controls, wastage, and process inefficiencies in manufacturing lines.
- Review procurement practices, vendor management, and contract compliance.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory records and stock controls.
7. Financial & Systems Audits
- Oversee audits of financial reporting systems, ERP systems, and IT controls.
- Ensure reliability of financial data and protection of company assets.
- Assess internal controls over accounts receivable, payable, and cash management.
- Evaluate cybersecurity and data integrity risks in coordination with IT.
8. Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare and present comprehensive audit reports with actionable recommendations.
- Track and ensure closure of audit observations and corrective actions.
- Provide periodic updates to senior management and Audit Committee.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and compliance across the organization.
9. Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing internal audit team.
- Develop training programs to enhance risk awareness and control culture within the organization.
- Ensure continuous professional development aligned with audit best practices.
Key Requirements
- Qualification: CA / ACCA / CIA / CMA (preferred)
- Experience: 10–15 years in Internal Audit, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (manufacturing sector preferred)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Internal audit frameworks (IIA Standards)
- Risk management & internal controls
- ERP systems
- Pakistani regulatory environment (SECP, FBR, etc.)

Pay: Rs300,000.00 - Rs400,000.00 per month
