Job Overview

Al Rabeeh Academy is seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Mathematics to join our dynamic, high performing team from August 2026. As Head of Mathematics in an international British curriculum school, you will play a pivotal leadership role in driving high quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, including GCSE and A Level Mathematics.

You will lead, manage and develop a team of Mathematics teachers, setting clear expectations, providing coaching and professional development, and ensuring consistently high standards of teaching, learning and student outcomes across the department.

You will oversee curriculum planning, assessment, data analysis and departmental improvement planning, fostering a collaborative, accountable and high performing team culture. You will promote a strong numeracy and problem solving ethos across the school, encouraging analytical thinking, mathematical reasoning and cross curricular collaboration.

What We're Looking For
  • Lead and deliver high quality, engaging Mathematics teaching in line with the British Curriculum, with the ability to teach and oversee provision up to GCSE and A Level.
  • Model and promote strong analytical thinking, problem solving and numeracy skills, ensuring teaching across the department is innovative, challenging and effective.
  • Use a range of formative and summative assessment strategies to monitor, track and improve student progress and attainment across all key stages.
  • Drive curriculum planning, sequencing and development across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, ensuring coherence, progression and alignment with examination requirements.
  • Lead, manage, coach and support members of the Mathematics department, promoting high standards of teaching, learning and professional conduct.
  • Use data effectively to evaluate performance, inform interventions and drive continuous departmental improvement.
  • Support the academic and pastoral wellbeing of students, embedding the school's values, routines and high expectations across the department.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers, communicating clearly about curriculum intent, student progress and next steps.
  • Contribute actively to school improvement initiatives, professional development and wider whole school life.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Fluent English speaker.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant subject with PGCE / QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification).
  • Experience teaching the English National Curriculum, preferably in an international setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills and commitment to student wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
