About the Role
Scaleup Connect is hiring a Head of Mechanical Department on behalf of its client. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all mechanical engineering operations, including project execution, technical planning, compliance, and team leadership. The role requires strategic oversight to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, drainage, and ventilation systems.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Technical Oversight
- Lead and manage the mechanical department, defining execution strategies and operational plans
- Review and approve mechanical designs, drawings, technical specifications, and BOQs
- Liaise with consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with local and international standards
- Provide technical leadership and resolve complex design, engineering, and site-related issues
Project Execution & Coordination
- Oversee execution of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, drainage, and ventilation systems
- Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Architectural, and HSE teams to ensure seamless project execution
- Monitor project timelines, progress, and milestones to ensure timely completion
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage mechanical engineers, supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors
- Plan manpower requirements and allocate resources effectively
- Monitor team performance and ensure productivity and efficiency
- Mentor and develop team members to strengthen technical capabilities
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Establish and enforce QA/QC standards and procedures for mechanical works
- Ensure full compliance with HSE policies and safety regulations
- Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, authority approvals, and engineering standards
Reporting & Documentation
- Review and submit technical, operational, and progress reports to senior management
- Ensure accurate documentation including inspection reports, testing records, and as-built drawings
- Identify risks, delays, and operational challenges, and implement corrective measures
Mandatory Skills
- Strong expertise in mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and ventilation
- Extensive experience in mechanical design review and project execution
- Proven leadership and team management capability
- Strong coordination, analytical, and technical problem-solving skills
- In-depth knowledge of QA/QC standards and HSE compliance

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Required)
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or Project Management (Preferred)
Experience
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering and project execution
- Proven experience in managing mechanical systems for large-scale commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects
- Prior leadership or departmental management experience is strongly preferred

- Base Salary: PKR 350,000 per month
