Job Summary

The Head of Oil and Gas Operations leads and oversees all operational activities across upstream, midstream, or downstream functions to ensure safe, efficient, compliant, and profitable performance. This role is responsible for operational strategy, production execution, resource planning, budget control, risk management, and cross-functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily and long-term oil and gas operations to achieve production, safety, and performance targets.
• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee field, plant, and facility operations to ensure efficiency and reliability.
• Manage operational budgets, cost control, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Monitor production metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead incident response, emergency preparedness, and risk mitigation activities.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, logistics, commercial, and HSE teams.
• Supervise and develop operational teams, managers, and contractors.
• Review operational reports, forecasts, and performance dashboards.
• Support asset integrity, maintenance planning, and operational readiness.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, regulators, and partners.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in oil and gas operations, typically 10+ years.
• Proven leadership experience in operational management or senior operations roles.
• Strong knowledge of oil and gas processes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing budgets, teams, contractors, and multi-site operations.
• Strong decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or MBA.
• Experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC oil and gas operations.
• Exposure to upstream, downstream, or integrated energy environments.
• Professional certifications in HSE, project management, or operations leadership.
