About the role
Ooredoo FinTech is looking for a seasoned Head of PMO to become a core part of our leadership team. The right candidate will bring a strong background in managing complex, high-stakes programmes within fintech or financial services, with a proven ability to translate strategy into tangible outcomes. This role goes beyond project oversight; it is about shaping how we deliver as an organisation, establishing robust governance structures, and ensuring that our portfolio remains firmly aligned with Ooredoo FinTech's strategic direction. You will work closely with senior leadership and serve as a trusted point of reference for connecting vision to execution across a dynamic and growing business.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution:
-
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of fintech projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives and strategic goals.

Develop detailed project plans, define project scope, objectives, and timelines, and allocate resources effectively.

Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.

Monitor dependencies across initiatives including those involving regional stakeholders

Ensure alignment with internal governance frameworks and organizational priorities

Establish, lead, and continuously evolve the PMO function to align with organizational goals and OFT's strategic vision.

Enforce enterprise-wide project governance frameworks, methodologies, standards, and best practices.

Stakeholder Management:
-
Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and any changes to timelines or scope.

Champion transparent communication of project status, milestones, risks, and strategic impacts across all stakeholders.

Lead cross-functional workshops to drive alignment and decision-making

Provide structured updates to senior management on progress, risks, and performance

Escalate issues where required to ensure timely resolution

Collaborate with relevant regional functions when initiatives involve cross market impact

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

Manage and lead cross-functional teams, providing guidance and direction to ensure project tasks are completed on time and to the required standard.

Foster a collaborative and results-driven environment to ensure that project objectives are met effectively.

Resolve conflicts or issues within the team, ensuring continuous momentum throughout the project lifecycle.

Risk Management & Problem Solving:

Identify project risks and proactively implement mitigation plans to minimize disruptions.

Maintain risk registers and mitigation plans

Address any issues or roadblocks that arise, ensuring that projects continue to progress and meet deadlines.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in fintech project delivery.

Ensure all projects comply with regulatory requirements, CBO guidelines, and fintech industry standards.

Establish and maintain audit-ready project governance documentation, including charters, and post-implementation reviews

Project Documentation & Executive Reporting:

Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, issue logs, and post-project reviews.

Track performance against agreed milestones and KPIs

Provide regular and detailed reports to senior management on project health, performance, financial tracking, timelines, and resource utilization, in line with organizational frameworks.

Continuous Improvement:

Evaluate project performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement lessons learned for future projects.

Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in fintech, incorporating innovative solutions into project management processes.

Qualifications:

Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. MBA is highly preferred. PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is highly preferred.

Experience:
-
Minimum 12 years of experience in the fintech or financial industry, with at least 7 years of senior leadership related role.

Proven experience managing end-to-end project lifecycles, from initiation to delivery.

Strong knowledge of fintech products, services, and regulatory standards
-
Knowledge of fintech products, payment systems, digital wallets, and regulatory standards (including CBO/compliance requirements).

Demonstrated experience operating within matrix organizational structures or similar cross-functional arrangements, with the ability to drive delivery and influence outcomes in a matrix structure with multiple reporting lines.

Skills & Competencies:

Exceptional leadership, influencing, and executive stakeholder management capabilities.

Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate business goals into structured delivery plans.

Advanced proficiency in project management tools (Microsoft Project, Jira, Planner, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, Power BI).

Ability to manage ambiguity, balance competing priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced startup environment.

Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with broader organizational frameworks

Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a data-driven mindset.

Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Arabic language proficiency is a strong advantage.
