A compute business only scales as fast as its supply chain.

The company is building a high-density, AI-ready data center platform and is seeking a Head of Procurement who understands that execution risk sits in long-lead items, contracts, and vendor dependencies.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role. The Head of Procurement will own the entire data center procurement stack — from land and power through to transformers, chillers, racks, and GPUs — ensuring cost discipline, delivery certainty, and long-term scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Owns the end-to-end procurement strategy across the full data center value chain: civil, electrical, mechanical, and IT infrastructure.
  • Leads large-capex sourcing and contracting for long-lead items including transformers, switchgear, generators, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, cabling, racks, servers, and GPUs.
  • Designs and manages the vendor ecosystem, including OEMs, EPCs, power and energy providers, fiber partners, and advanced cooling suppliers.
  • Develops cost models, drives price discovery, and leads negotiations to optimize $/MW, $/rack, and total cost of ownership.
  • Structures contracts to ensure predictable delivery timelines through penalties, forward capacity reservations, and risk-sharing mechanisms.
  • Oversees inventory strategy, spares planning, and risk management to mitigate supply-chain disruptions.
  • Leads sustainability and energy procurement initiatives, including renewables, microgrids, and long-term PPAs.
  • Establishes procurement governance, dashboards, and documentation designed to scale from initial MW deployments to hundreds of MW.
  • Candidate Profile

    • Has led procurement in a data center, cloud, telecom, or similarly capex-intensive infrastructure environment.
    • Brings deep understanding of long-cycle procurement, regulatory requirements, and supply-chain risk in infrastructure projects.
    • Demonstrates strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in contract negotiation, vendor leverage, and cost control.
    • Is comfortable operating in fast-paced, build-and-scale environments with high execution pressure.
    • Is capable of building procurement systems and vendor relationships that scale predictably and efficiently.
