Role Overview

The Head of Risk will lead the risk management function for Pay10 Egypt, ensuring that all operations comply with regulatory requirements and align with best practices in the fintech and payments industry. The role involves developing and implementing effective risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the business. The Head of Risk will play a vital role in ensuring full compliance with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) regulations and other relevant legal frameworks, safeguarding the company’s assets, reputation, and ensuring business continuity.


Key Responsibilities

Risk Strategy & Framework:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework aligned with Pay10 Egypt’s strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain risk policies and procedures, ensuring they are effectively communicated and embedded across the organization.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure full compliance with Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) regulations and other relevant local and international regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, assess their impact on the organization, and update risk management practices accordingly.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders on all risk-related matters.

Risk Identification & Assessment:

  • Identify, assess, and prioritize key risks across the organization, including operational, financial, credit, market, compliance, and reputational risks.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, including stress testing and scenario analysis, to evaluate the potential impact of various risk factors.

Risk Mitigation & Control:

  • Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies and action plans to manage identified risks.
  • Ensure the implementation and effectiveness of appropriate internal controls and risk management systems.
  • Oversee the development, testing, and continuous improvement of the company’s business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Prepare and present regular risk reports to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders, highlighting key exposures, trends, and mitigation measures.
  • Foster a risk-aware culture throughout the organization through regular training, communication, and the promotion of risk management best practices.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead and manage the risk management function, providing direction, mentorship, and performance oversight to the team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments to ensure a unified and integrated approach to risk management.

Risk Monitoring & Review:

  • Continuously monitor the internal and external risk environment, adjusting risk management strategies as needed.
  • Regularly review and update risk policies and procedures to ensure continued alignment with best practices and regulatory changes.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) , PRM (Professional Risk Manager) , or equivalent are preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in risk management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the fintech, payments, or financial services industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) regulations and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing enterprise-wide risk management frameworks within a regulated environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to make data-driven, risk-based decisions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership skills with a focus on collaboration, accountability, and fostering a culture of risk awareness.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to compliance and governance best practices.
