Description

As Jacob's Head of Supply Chain, you will be our first hire on the operations/supply chain side of the business. Your mission is to architect and lead a resilient, cost-effective, and scalable end-to-end supply chain – from raw materials to last-mile delivery. You’ll build and scale the infrastructure behind our brand. This is a high-leverage, high-ownership role, and you'll be coming into a business without deeply integrated systems and infrastructure (you'll be the one building them). We are looking for someone who has done this previously in a similar/adjacent CPG category.

While your actual responsibilities will be vast, and rapidly evolving as our business does, here is a high-level outline of your responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end supply chain from ingredient sourcing and packaging procurement to co-manufacturing, freight, 3PL, and last-mile delivery.
  • Build and manage vendor relationships with co-mans, freight partners, and fulfillment providers.
  • Develop and implement scalable SOPs across sourcing, production, quality, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Reduce COGS through strategic sourcing: optimize vendors (and ensure redundancies to avoid stockouts), negotiate better terms to improve working capital, and identify opportunities to reduce cost without sacrificing quality.
  • Lead our Quality Management System to ensure food safety, regulatory compliance, traceability, and audit readiness.
  • Own inventory planning and forecasting in collaboration with Finance and Growth, aligning production and freight timelines with demand forecasts and marketing pushes.
  • Create visibility through documentation: maintain clear, up-to-date records for processes, POs, risk plans, and operational metrics.
  • Solve problems before they become fires: spot bottlenecks, address supplier issues, and drive accountability across partners.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain or operations at a CPG company, with at least 2 years in a leadership or ownership role. (we are looking for someone who has previously done this in a similar/adjacent category)
  • Track record of managing sourcing, manufacturing, freight, and fulfillment across both DTC (primarily) and retail channels.
  • Deep understanding of food manufacturing, logistics, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated success in reducing COGS and improving vendor terms without compromising quality or speed.
  • Please write “34” at the top of your cover letter.
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills.
  • Comfortable tying operational plans to demand forecasts, revenue targets, and working capital constraints.
  • Proven team builder and manager: experienced in managing internal hires and external vendors, setting KPIs, and creating systems that scale.
  • Experience building and implementing SOPs and introducing operational discipline to early-stage orgs.

Personal Attributes

  • Set ambitious goals and consistently beat them.
  • You have a habit of winning. You are competitive.
  • Default to action. Get things done quickly.
  • Energized by fast, unstructured environments with full freedom to build.
  • Operate with accountability (you don’t wait to be told).
  • Think in systems, highly organized (even in chaos), and detail-oriented.
  • Obsess over clarity (of goals, data, and communication).
  • Take action quickly, learn fast, and iterate without ego.
  • Speak directly, receive feedback openly, and pursue truth over politics (no right or wrong, only what's best for the business).
  • Love the grind of building something meaningful and category-defining.
  • Care deeply about health, performance, and helping others feel better.

Benefits

  • Full-time, in-office position (5 days per week) based in New York City.
  • Cash compensation: $150,000 - 275,000.
  • Company equity opportunity.
