Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement & Vendor Management
- Design and own annual procurement strategies including category-wise sourcing plans and vendor rationalization roadmaps
- Identify, onboard, and manage strategic vendors and alternate suppliers to ensure supply security across all critical materials
- Negotiate long-term supply agreements, pricing contracts, payment terms, and quality SLAs
- Establish and chair a Vendor Performance Review (VPR) mechanism with monthly scorecards
Cost Optimization & Total Cost Management
- Own and deliver year-on-year Total Cost of Supply Chain (TCSC) reduction targets
- Lead cross-functional cost-down initiatives including value engineering and freight consolidation
- Benchmark procurement prices and warehousing costs against market standards
- Optimize inventory carrying costs through Safety Stock, Reorder Points, and EOQ models
Process Standardization & Compliance
- Develop and implement comprehensive SOPs across all supply chain functions
- Establish ERP-based system controls for PO approvals, material receipts, and dispatch management
- Drive inventory accuracy above 98% through cycle counts and ABC analysis
- Ensure statutory compliance including GST, e-way bills, and applicable regulatory requirements
Supply Chain Risk & Business Continuity
- Develop and maintain a Supply Chain Risk Register with mitigation ownership
- Qualify alternate vendors for all critical materials; maintain strategic buffer stocks
- Establish a Business Continuity Plan covering vendor failure, logistics disruption, and demand surges
Inventory Planning & Cross-Functional Synergy
- Own the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process — chair monthly cross-functional planning meetings
- Develop rolling 3-month and 12-month material requirement plans aligned with production schedules
- Collaborate with Production and Sales & Marketing to align inventory levels and replenishment cycles
Warehousing, Logistics & Distribution
- Oversee all inbound and outbound logistics — transporter empanelment, route optimization, and OTIF performance
- Manage company-owned and 3PL warehouse operations including layout, FIFO discipline, and safety compliance
- Evaluate and implement 3PL partnerships where cost-effective; monitor KPIs and SLA compliance rigorously
Key Performance Indicators
- Year-on-year Total Cost of Supply Chain (TCSC) reduction
- Inventory accuracy consistently above 98%
- OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery performance above agreed service levels
- Vendor delivery reliability, quality compliance, and cost adherence scores
- Forecast accuracy and reduction in excess/obsolete inventory
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, or operations management
- Proven track record of leading large-scale supply chain transformation and cost reduction programs
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally), WMS, and TMS platforms
- Strong knowledge of procurement, inventory management, logistics, and regulatory compliance
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
