Role Overview

The Head Waiter/Waitress is responsible for leading the service team and ensuring exceptional guest experiences through attentive, professional, and personalized service. Acting as the link between management and the service staff, the Head Waiter/Waitress oversees daily floor operations, ensures service standards are upheld, and supports the Restaurant Manager in maintaining smooth, efficient, and guest-focused operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service Supervision: Leads the service team during shifts, ensuring smooth coordination, timely order delivery, and adherence to service standards. Monitors the dining area to ensure guest satisfaction and efficient workflow.
  • Guest Experience: Provides an exceptional level of service, anticipating guest needs and handling inquiries or complaints with professionalism and care. Ensures guests receive a memorable dining experience that reflects the brand’s standards.
  • Team Leadership and Training: Guides, motivates, and supports waitstaff in their daily duties. Assists in training new employees on service techniques, menu knowledge, and guest interaction. Promotes teamwork and a positive work environment.
  • Upselling and Product Knowledge: Maintains thorough knowledge of the menu, daily specials, and promotions. Encourages upselling of food and beverages to enhance guest experience and maximize sales.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a high-end restaurant, lounge, or hospitality venue, with at least 1–2 years in a senior role.
  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage service, dining etiquette, and POS systems.
  • Professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong sense of responsibility.
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
