The Head Waitress works as a team member to create the most professional service team in F&B operations, providing high-quality customer service that emphasizes and projects a positive, high-quality image of QC+ and the outlet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Emphasize and project a positive, high-quality image for the outlet.
- Take responsibility for providing professional service in food and beverage outlets.
- Offer guests an enjoyable and expertly served dining experience that aligns with the outlet’s standards of excellence, food quality, professionalism, and friendliness.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of the food and beverage menu of the assigned outlet to assist and provide advice to guests.
- Maintain a good relationship with guests and attend to their complaints and queries satisfactorily.
- Use up-selling techniques actively to exceed guest expectations and increase the outlet’s revenue.
- Communicate actively with guests in the outlet and obtain their feedback.
- Increase revenue for the outlet through suggestive selling at all opportunities.
- Understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees’ Handbook and the company’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, and Health & Safety.
- Report for duty punctually, always wearing the correct uniform.
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene.
- Maintain good rapport and working relationship with all staff members.
- Attend communication meetings, briefings, and training sessions as required by the Manager.
- Fully support the departmental training functions.
- Project a positive and motivated attitude and exercise self-control.
- Handle guest enquiries courteously and efficiently.
- Report guest complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found and follow up with guests.
- Provide courteous and professional service.
- Ensure that the workplace and surrounding area are always kept clean and organized.
- Undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Manager.
- Take responsibility for maintaining hygiene and cleanliness standards in the outlet.
- Take responsibility for enabling the outlet to achieve and maintain outlet standards.
- Assist with the monitoring of the restaurant’s inventory as directed by the Manager.
- Assist the Manager during food and beverage events such as cocktail receptions, conferences, banqueting, and outside catering.
- Create a harmonious environment amongst all staff members.
- Complete the opening/closing responsibilities of the outlet.
- Maintain personal hygiene and safety standards.
- Cooperate with other departments as directed by the Manager.
- Undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Manager.
- Monitor the quality of food and beverage being served to the guests to ensure consistency.
- Greet and seat guests and serve them in a professional, discreet, and personalized way.
- Present the menu to guests, take orders, and handle their enquiries courteously and efficiently.
- Pick up and serve food and beverage orders according to the outlet’s standards.
- Follow up on guests’ feedback and ensure that guests have enjoyed their dining experience.
- Present check to guests, collect their payment, and settle the bill.
- Report any misunderstanding, problem, or accident with guests or staff to the supervisors.
- Take responsibility for all service preparations, before, during and after the service (mise-en-place and mise-en-scene).
- Control cost by minimizing wastage, breakage, and spoilage.
- Take co-responsibility for the correct handling of all food stock and equipment in the outlet.
- Remove dishes and glasses from the tables or counters and take them to the kitchen for cleaning.
- Make clearance and reset tables and side stations.
- Return and exchange soiled linen.
- Polish the outlet’s glassware, crockery, and cutlery.
- Refill condiments and fold napkins.
- Set up, stock, and maintain the working area.
- Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all chinaware, glassware, and silverware before use.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day and practice clean-as-you-go procedures.
- Carry out a quarterly, bi-yearly, and yearly inventory check of the operating equipment.
- Ensure that the F&B Service team projects a warm, professional, and welcoming image of the outlet.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or relevant certification is preferred
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar position
- Food & Beverage background is preferred
