Plan, organize, and supervise all safety activities on site; ensure that safety rules, practices and procedures are adhered to by all workers, contractors, visitors, etc.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections of the site, equipment, materials, work areas, scaffolding, tools, etc., to identify potential hazards.
- Monitor usage and condition of personal protective equipment (PPE); ensure all workers are using PPE correctly and consistently.
- Conduct risk assessments and job safety analyses (JSAs) before beginning high-risk operations; ensure proper mitigation measures are in place.
- Ensure that all workers, contractors, and visitors are informed of site-specific safety procedures, emergency procedures, evacuation routes, etc.
- Lead or coordinate safety training sessions/orientations for new employees, subcontractors; refreshers for existing team; toolbox talks, safety drills.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near-misses; prepare incident reports and follow up on corrective actions; track root causes and ensure lessons learned are carried forward.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws & regulations (OSHA equivalents in your country, environmental laws, labor laws) and company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation: permits, inspection reports, incident logs, safety audit reports, training attendance records, etc.
- Coordinate with other site supervisors, leadership, subcontractors to ensure safety program integration.
- Liaise with health & safety authorities, external auditors, clients and regulatory bodies as needed.
- Promote a safety culture on-site: proactive hazard identification, continuous improvement, promoting safe behaviours among all personnel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Certifications:
- Certified Safety Professional (or local equivalent)
- First Aid / CPR certification
Experience & Eligibility Criteria:
- Minimum 2–5 years of site safety supervision experience in construction / EPC / industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Ability to conduct toolbox talks, training sessions, and safety inductions for site staff.
- Good communication, leadership, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in maintaining safety documentation and compliance records
