ROLE PURPOSE:

  • The Facilitator is accountable for planning, preparing, and carrying out health awareness and promotion activities targeting children, adolescents, youth, and caregivers, aiming to improve health knowledge, healthy behaviors, and overall well-being.
  • Deliver health education, awareness sessions, and capacity-building activities for children, & youth from refugees & migrants community, in preventive health, nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • S/he will work closely with the target groups to promote healthy practices, personal health responsibility, and access to appropriate health services.
  • Participate in developing child and adolescent health promotion interventions and awareness programs tailored based on needs assessments and identified health priorities.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Project Implementation

  • Conduct basic health-related assessments to identify children and youth in need of health awareness activities and referrals.
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate a rolling program of health awareness sessions, raising awareness on child health, hygiene, nutrition, and preventive health topics.
  • Support groups of children and adolescents to participate in health-related community awareness initiatives.
  • Support health activities as required and in coordination with the health team.
  • Ensure that activities are implemented according to the approved Plan of Action (POA).
  • Ensure that activities are implemented with full respect of Save the Children child safeguarding and health policies.
  • Prepare for health awareness sessions according to facilitator manuals and approved guidelines.
  • Adopt interactive and participatory learning methodologies during awareness and training sessions.
  • Responsible for developing a monthly plan for health awareness sessions.
  • Participate in all program-related activities such as information sessions, health campaigns, parents’ meetings, field visits, and community outreach activities.
  • Contribute to the project database and monitoring system through accurate data entry and regular updates against agreed indicators.
  • Provide administrative and documentation support for the different health activities.
  • Cooperate with team members to ensure the best interest and well-being of the child and his/her family.

Reporting and documentation

  • Develop monthly reports reflecting progress in project implementation, highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Work with children, caregivers, and team members to monitor, document, and share information, data, and success stories related to health activities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Social Sciences, Education or any relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of relevant field experience, preferably in health awareness, community health, or public health interventions with children and youth.
  • Proven experience in designing and facilitating health awareness or health education sessions for children aged 8–18 years.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of activity planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Proven understanding of child health, preventive care, and health promotion approaches.
  • Evidence of analytical thinking and commitment to improving child health outcomes.
  • Good working knowledge of English and Arabic (reading and writing).
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with refugee and migrant health contexts is a strong advantage.
  • Data entry, basic database management, and report writing skills are required.
