Position Overview: THIS POSITION IS IN PERSON, WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR A REMOTE WORKER. We are looking for a Benefits and Authorizations Specialist with experience who can come in and hit the ground running. This person will play a critical role in ensuring that benefits are checked well ahead of appointments and assisting our authorizations team in obtaining authorizations for our multi-specialty practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the authorizations team in obtaining and tracking prior authorizations.
• Verify benefits for various treatments, including specialty visits, diagnostic tests, trigger point injections and rehabilitation.
• Answer patient questions about benefits and authorizations in person or over the phone.
• Answer provider questions regarding authorizations or patient benefits.
• Proactively contact patients when insurance issues are found or when authorization is denied.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all benefit verifications and authorizations.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a benefits and authorizations specialist. At least 2 years of experience in benefit verification and/or authorizations in a medical office is required.
• Must have experience in Medicare and Medicaid Insurances.
• Strong understanding of insurance benefits and prior authorization processes including knowledge of Diagnosis Codes and CPT Codes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Proficient in using medical scheduling systems and electronic health records.

Working Hours:

• In-person position.
• Hours are 40 hours per week in office only. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.
