Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance coverage by contacting insurance companies and utilizing managed care portals to confirm eligibility and benefits.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, including managed care plans and HIPAA regulations, to ensure compliance during verification processes.
- Communicate effectively with medical offices, and other healthcare providers to gather necessary information for insurance verification.
- Process medical records requests and update patient accounts with verified insurance details promptly.
- Assist in resolving claim issues by identifying discrepancies related to medical terminology or coding errors and collaborating with billing departments.
- Support the team with office experience tasks such as managing medical records, updating databases, and maintaining organized documentation.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security.
- Experience verifying insurance benefits through managed care portals or insurance company contacts.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with healthcare providers, insurance representatives, and patients.
- Office experience with proficiency in handling medical records and maintaining organized documentation is desirable.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
