Health IT Training and Education is responsible for all aspects of the electronic health record, including but not limited to Epic/Apex training for UCSF Health hospitals, practices, affiliates, and community partners. The Principal Trainer will collaborate with the Epic/Apex application teams, informatics, and clinical/business operations to provide training support to various end users, including front-end users, revenue cycle, physicians, nurses, and other users. This position will focus on educating and supporting practices with the Health Technology application, including but not limited to Epic/Apex. Apply skills as a seasoned clinical applications professional to develop, document, train, implement, and support best practice standard work to improve the use of Apex/Epic and third-party systems. Provides excellent customer service to end users, tracks issues, and follows up as appropriate. Principal Trainer will work at multiple locations, including UCSF Health San Francisco and Benioff Children’s Hospitals-Oakland and San Francisco, UCSF campus, and community affiliate partners.
An essential component of these key responsibilities is the ability to manage multiple competing priorities while meeting all program deadlines. As training will be role-based, Principal Trainers must have experience with or the capacity to quickly understand clinical, procedural, and administrative workflows and related policies/procedures.
Principal Trainers must achieve certification within twelve months of hire and support a variety of APeX/Epic applications, as well as integrated Health IT technologies.
