An HSE Officer is responsible for ensuring workplace safety, compliance with health and environmental regulations, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization. They identify risks, implement safety protocols, and promote best practices to prevent accidents and environmental hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure the organization complies with health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.
  • Develop and enforce safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards in the workplace.

2. Safety Inspections & Audits:

  • Perform regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain records of inspections, audits, and incident reports.

3. Training & Awareness:

  • Organize safety training programs for employees, contractors, and management.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through workshops, meetings, and awareness campaigns.
  • Ensure employees use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines.

4. Emergency Preparedness:

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans.
  • Conduct fire drills, evacuation drills, and first aid training.
  • Coordinate with emergency response teams and local authorities when necessary.

5. Environmental Management:

  • Monitor environmental impact and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Implement waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Report and mitigate environmental hazards.

6. Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure that all safety documentation is up to date and accessible.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in HSE (e.g., ISO 2200:2018,HACCP, OSHA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in an HSE role.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and accident investigations.
  • Proficiency in safety management systems and reporting tools.

Work Environment:

  • May work in office settings, construction sites, industrial plants, or offshore locations.
  • Requires regular site visits and inspections.
  • May involve working in hazardous environments, requiring protective gear

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs50,000.00 - Rs70,000.00 per month
