Description

Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager to lead, develop, and continuously improve our environmental, health, safety, and Worker’s Compensation programs across all locations and job sites.

This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, strengthening team member engagement, and advancing our EHS management systems. The Health & Safety Manager plays a critical leadership role in protecting our team members, customers, and the environment while fostering a strong, proactive safety culture.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead & Strengthen Safety Programs

  • Manage and enhance the Company's Health & Safety programs to meet and exceed federal, state, and local regulatory requirements including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), RCRA, and transportation standards.

  • Develop and implement safety training programs for all U.S.-based team members.

  • Conduct New Team Member Safety Orientation and ongoing safety education initiatives.

  • Implement behavioral-based safety programs to strengthen safety awareness and culture.

Ensure Regulatory & Environmental Compliance

  • Oversee compliance with OSHA, FMCSA, EPA, DOT/IATA/IMDG regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Maintain environmental compliance across multiple job sites and office locations.

  • Conduct safety audits, driver audits, inspections, and risk assessments.

  • Implement corrective actions identified through audits and inspections.

  • Maintain accurate safety, environmental, and incident records.

Drive Incident Prevention & Investigation

  • Investigate workplace incidents and near-misses to determine root causes.

  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective strategies.

  • Monitor unsafe driving behaviors using telematics systems such as Motive and Lytx DriveCam.

  • Lead initiatives to improve fleet safety performance and reduce risk.

Manage Worker’s Compensation & Injury Management

  • Oversee Worker’s Compensation and OSHA programs.

  • Support injured team members, supervisors, HR, and Labor regarding benefits, return-to-work plans, restricted duty, and medical coordination.

  • Coordinate ergonomic evaluations and implement corrective measures.

Collaborate & Influence

  • Partner with corporate teams to implement consistent safety standards and best practices.

  • Provide EHS expertise across operations, offices, and field environments.

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Lead safety initiatives in a matrixed environment while keeping key stakeholders informed.


What You Must Have

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Science, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline (preferred).

  • Professional EHS Certification (CSP, ASP, or equivalent) — required.

  • 5–7 years of progressive EHS experience.

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, FMCSA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Experience implementing EHS Management Systems such as OHSAS ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

  • Experience managing Worker’s Compensation programs and regulatory reporting.

  • Transportation safety and telematics experience (Motive, Lytx DriveCam, transportation management systems).

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Strong occupational safety background in life-critical processes:

    • Cranes & Lifting

    • Electrical / LOTO

    • Machine Guarding

    • Fall Protection

    • Mobile Equipment & Pedestrian Safety

    • Confined Space

    • Fire Protection & Emergency Response

  • Advanced computer proficiency including MS Office and data/financial analysis tools.

  • Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.

  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and varying shifts as needed.

  • Ability to handle confidential team member information with professionalism.
