Healthcare Data Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Healthcare Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting healthcare data to support business decisions, improve patient outcomes, optimize operations, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, experience with healthcare datasets, and the ability to transform complex data into meaningful insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, validate, and analyze large healthcare datasets from multiple sources.
  • Interpret healthcare data related to patients, claims, billing, clinical operations, insurance, and provider performance.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations for business and clinical stakeholders.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to improve patient care, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
  • Perform data mining, statistical analysis, and data quality checks.
  • Work with teams such as clinical, finance, operations, compliance, and IT to understand reporting requirements.
  • Analyze electronic health records (EHR), claims data, payer data, utilization data, and population health metrics.
  • Support regulatory reporting, healthcare compliance, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to HIPAA and healthcare data governance standards.
  • Create ad hoc reports and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in identifying KPIs and performance metrics for healthcare operations and patient outcomes.
  • Document data definitions, processes, and reporting methodologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Public Health, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in the healthcare domain.
  • Strong experience with SQL for querying and manipulating data.
  • Hands-on experience with Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools.
  • Understanding of healthcare data such as:
  • Claims Data
  • EHR / EMR Data
  • Patient Records
  • Provider Data
  • Revenue Cycle / Billing Data
  • Insurance / Payer Data
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, healthcare privacy, and compliance regulations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with healthcare systems such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or other EHR platforms.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, DRG, HL7, FHIR, or healthcare coding/standards.
  • Experience with Python, R, SAS, or other statistical/analytical tools.
  • Familiarity with predictive analytics, healthcare quality metrics, and population health reporting.
  • Experience in hospital, insurance, payer, provider, or healthcare consulting environments.
  • Certification in Healthcare Analytics, Data Analytics, or Health Informatics is a plus.
