Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc is seeking a compassionate and highly organised individual to join our team as a Healthcare Scheduling Specialist. This is a Part-Time / Full-Time, fully Remote position, with the flexibility to work either day or night shifts. Since 1977, our organisation has been dedicated to providing exceptional end-of-life care, helping patients and their families navigate challenging times with dignity and comfort. As a Healthcare Scheduling Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our mission by ensuring our clinical staff are efficiently scheduled to meet the needs of our diverse patients, who range from newborns to the elderly. This position is vital for the smooth operation of our patient care services, requiring a meticulous and empathetic professional who can manage complex logistical challenges.
Responsibilities
* Develop, manage, and coordinate the daily schedules for our multidisciplinary clinical team, including nurses, carers, and therapists.
* Act as the primary point of contact for patients, families, and staff regarding all scheduling matters.
* Efficiently allocate resources to meet patient needs while optimising travel time and staff workload.
* Communicate schedule changes promptly and clearly to all relevant parties to ensure continuity of care.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within our electronic scheduling and patient management systems.
* Respond to urgent scheduling requests with a calm and solution-focused approach.
* Collaborate closely with the clinical leadership team to anticipate future staffing needs and resolve any scheduling conflicts.
* Provide general administrative support to the care team as required.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a scheduling, coordination, or senior administrative role, ideally within a healthcare, social care, or hospice environment.
* Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with empathy and professionalism.
* Strong IT proficiency, including experience with scheduling software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
* The ability to work independently and proactively in a remote setting.
* A compassionate nature and a genuine desire to contribute to a mission-driven organisation.
* Flexibility to work day or night shifts is essential.
* Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health records (EHR) systems is highly desirable.
