Job Description

This position serves in a technical capacity, on a highly functioning team, in a multi domain environment; assist with guiding system implementation, support, monitoring, and maintenance of clinical applications.

Help with application upgrades, complete routine service request and assist in issue resolution

The position will also support third party applications that integrate between EHR via HL7 and API interfaces.

Key Duties:

Contributes to the clinical application system strategy, deployment, and support of the Cerner EMR and ancillary components.

• SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) – Must have an understanding of the application development life cycle. Ability to apply those principles to day to day work.
• Assist in Application Upgrades and Implementations - Review and validate technical functionality of application upgrades and implementations. Identify new functionality and/or hardware requirements as assigned. Ability to create architecture diagrams and test plans.
• Vendor Relationships - Interact with vendors (technical issues, project initiatives) with limited supervision and assist with issue escalation and resolution where applicable.
• Communication - Responsible for demonstrating appropriate, clear, concise, and effective written and oral communications in all interactions to build relationships and accomplish day to day work and projects.
• System Integration – Have a basic understanding of HL7 and API transactions related to system integration. Perform validation testing. Ability to modify existing architecture diagrams and testing plans.
• Documentation - Complete documentation/flow chart of system builds and maintain team's existing documentation independently.
• On-call Requirements - Must participate in an on-call rotation group to help provide 24/7 support for assigned solutions

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree with (5) years of experience, or greater than (6) years of experience in a healthcare application support role. Demonstrated organizational, analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to set and manage multiple priorities and to lead others in team projects; demonstrated ability to manage and/or resolve issues affecting healthcare operational systems including clinical and/or financial. Related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
