Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Helper, where you'll play a vital role in supporting skilled technicians with installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems. This entry-level position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the HVAC industry, working on a variety of mechanical systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems. Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced HVAC technicians with installing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across residential and commercial properties.
  • Support in reading schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design plans to ensure accurate system setup and troubleshooting.
  • Help with plumbing connections, refrigerant handling—including ammonia refrigeration—and electrical wiring tasks under supervision.
  • Use tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and perform basic equipment repairs to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Participate in field service operations by preparing job sites, transporting equipment using company vehicles including <PERSON> drivers’ licenses where applicable.
  • Aid in performing routine property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R systems and appliance repairs to uphold safety standards.
  • Follow safety protocols during welding, boiler servicing, or mechanical work while assisting with equipment repair and maintenance activities.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience or training in HVAC, service technician roles, or property maintenance is highly desirable.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge with an understanding of HVAC systems, schematics, plumbing, refrigeration, and electrical components.
  • Familiarity with HVAC design principles and field service procedures is a plus.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and testing devices.
  • Strong willingness to learn about ammonia refrigeration systems and HVAC/R technology.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience as a <PERSON> driver preferred.
