JOB DESCRIPTION – HEAVY VEHICLE DRIVER (MEP COMPANY – ABU DHABI)

Position Title: Heavy Vehicle Driver

Department: Operations / Logistics

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Reports To: Transport Coordinator / Operations Manager

1. Position Overview

The Heavy Vehicle Driver is responsible for operating company heavy vehicles to support MEP project logistics, including transporting manpower, materials, tools, and equipment between project sites, warehouses, and the head office. The role requires strict compliance with UAE traffic laws, safety standards, and company procedures, especially within construction and MEP environments.

2. Key Responsibilities

Operate heavy vehicles (Heavy Bus) for daily site operations.

Transport manpower to and from MEP project sites across Abu Dhabi and occasionally Dubai.

Deliver materials, tools, and equipment to sites as per project requirements.

Conduct daily vehicle inspections and ensure the vehicle is clean, safe, and roadworthy.

Report any mechanical issues, delays, or incidents immediately to the Transport Coordinator.

Follow all UAE traffic regulations and company driving policies.

Maintain accurate logs for trips, fuel usage, and mileage.

Assist with loading/unloading materials when required.

Ensure safe driving practices and professional conduct at all times.

Support additional operational tasks assigned by the line manager.

3. Requirements

Valid UAE Heavy Vehicle Driving License (Heavy Bus)

Minimum 2–3 years of UAE experience driving heavy vehicles, preferably in construction/MEP companies.

Strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi roads, industrial zones, and project site access rules.

Ability to communicate in English; Arabic/Hindi/Urdu is an advantage.

Physically fit and able to work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends when required.

Clean driving record with no major violations.

High level of responsibility, punctuality, and safety awareness.

4. Preferred Skills

Basic vehicle troubleshooting and preventive maintenance knowledge.

Familiarity with MEP site logistics and material handling.

Good route planning and time‑management skills.

Professional attitude and customer‑service mindset.

Ability to follow instructions and coordinate with site teams.

5. Working Conditions

Field‑based role with frequent travel between MEP project sites.

May require extended hours depending on project deadlines and manpower movement schedules.
