Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment including excavators, cranes, bulldozers, loaders, and forklifts using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications and schematics.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, brake repairs, and hydraulic system inspections to prevent downtime.
- Fabricate and modify components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
- Conduct detailed inspections on transmissions, air brake systems, suspension components, HVAC systems, and electrical wiring to identify issues early.
- Utilize heavy lifting techniques and equipment operation skills to safely remove or install large parts or assemblies during repairs or assembly tasks.
- Maintain accurate service records, complete shift reports, and document repairs for accountability and future reference.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics on various machinery.
Skills
- Extensive dealership experience with heavy equipment brands such as Caterpillar or OEM-equivalent machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and service bulletins for precise diagnostics and repairs.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; comfortable working with power tools and hand tools.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment.
- Ability to perform tire service, alignments, HVAC repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and general automotive repair on heavy machinery.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients regarding maintenance needs or repair status. Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
