Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including trucks, industrial machinery, and farm equipment. Your expertise will ensure that all vehicles and machinery operate safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our operations across various sectors. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and electrical components using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery.
- Fabricate parts or modify existing components to meet specific operational needs using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques.
- Replace or repair shocks & struts, tires, brake systems, HVAC systems, and alignments to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed and parts used; interpret schematics for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair needs clearly to clients or operators and ensuring their satisfaction with the service provided.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role within a dealership or industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and the ability to read schematics accurately.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and tractor-trailers.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; capable of using power tools effectively.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to air brake systems, alignment procedures, suspension repairs, HVAC systems, tire service, shocks & struts replacement.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during assembly or equipment repair tasks.
