Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Job Overview

Paragon Hot Oil Services is seeking a Pump & Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of hot oil trucks, vacuum trucks, and support equipment. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, experienced with diesel engines and pump systems, and able to work in both shop and field environments. This role is essential to keeping our trucks safe, reliable, and ready for oilfield operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, service, and repair diesel engines on hot oil trucks and related equipment
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, pumps, burners, heaters, and vacuum units
  • Perform preventative maintenance: oil changes, filter and belt replacements, fluid checks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
  • Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and repair times
  • Respond to on-site equipment breakdowns and provide emergency support
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician
  • Strong knowledge of Detroit Engines, Cummins engines, hydraulics, and Gardner Denver pump systems
  • Must be mechanically inclined and able to work independently
  • Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred)
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Basic computer and diagnostic tool literacy
  • Preferred: Experience working on hot oil, vacuum, or crude trucks
  • Preferred: ASE certifications or related technical training

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.29 - $32.00 per hour
