Key Responsibilities
1. Transportation & Operations
- Vehicle Operation: Safely and efficiently operate 3-ton pickup trucks and other assigned commercial vehicles (as per license class) for daily site operational needs.
- Material Transport: Load, secure, and transport materials, small equipment, spare parts, and tools between the main project site, off-site storage facilities, and local suppliers as instructed by the Logistics or Store Keeper.
- Personnel Transport: Transport authorized personnel and workers to designated areas both on-site and off-site, strictly adhering to vehicle capacity limits.
- Route Planning: Plan efficient routes for delivery and collection, anticipating traffic conditions and adhering to commercial vehicle restrictions enforced by RTA and local authorities in Dubai/Abu Dhabi.
2. Vehicle Maintenance & Compliance
- Safety Checks: Conduct mandatory daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections (visual and functional checks) on the assigned vehicle, including fuel, oil, tires, lights, brakes, and safety equipment.
- Maintenance Reporting: Report any mechanical defects, damage, or required maintenance immediately to the Logistics Supervisor or Fleet Manager.
- Documentation: Maintain all necessary trip logs, delivery documentation (DNs, receipts), RTA permits, and vehicle-related records accurately.
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure 100% compliance with all UAE traffic laws, RTA/DOT regulations, speed limits, and required commercial vehicle licensing and documentation at all times.
3. Site Safety & Logistics Support
- Site Rules: Adhere strictly to all site safety rules, speed limits, and designated traffic management plans while operating vehicles within the active construction zone.
- Loading/Unloading: Assist in the safe loading and unloading of materials, ensuring loads are properly secured, balanced, and covered before transit.
- Cleanliness: Maintain the interior and exterior cleanliness of the assigned vehicle.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- License (Mandatory): Must possess a Valid UAE Heavy-Duty Driving License (Manual) allowing the operation of commercial vehicles, including heavy pickup trucks (3-ton capacity).
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of proven, professional driving experience in the UAE, with previous experience working on large-scale construction sites or within a related industrial logistics environment highly preferred.
- Local Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of UAE road networks, major industrial areas, and current RTA/local police traffic regulations for commercial vehicles.
- Skills: Excellent defensive driving skills and a clear, incident-free driving record. Ability to read and understand basic delivery documentation in English is required.
- Physical Requirement: Physically fit to assist with manual loading/unloading tasks and vehicle maintenance checks.
