JOB TITLE: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

JOB DESCRIPTION: Employees in this job perform a variety of activities to service, repair and maintain company vehicles and heavy construction equipment. Mechanics will perform electrical, mechanical and hydraulic repairs on equipment such as excavators, loaders, forklifts and more. Applicants should have some experience with diesel heavy equipment repair so they can determine what parts and tools are necessary for repairs.

RESPONSIBLITIES include but not limited to:

· Inspect company vehicles & heavy construction equipment for proper performance.

· Diagnose equipment issues, often using computerized tools

· Repair equipment or defective parts using hand tools and/or power tools

· Perform major repair work which includes disassembling and reassembling heavy equipment when necessary.

· Consult equipment operating manuals and/or blueprints

· Cleaning, lubricating and conducting routine services on company vehicles and heavy equipment.

· Travel to worksites to repair heavy equipment

· Test equipment that has been repaired and make any necessary arrangements

· Maintain equipment repair logs

· Performing other related duties as assigned by the maintenance department.

REQUIREMENTS:

Heavy equipment mechanics need to be physically fit to perform their job duties, which can include:

· Lifting: Frequently lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lifting to 50 lbs. or more

· Operating Tools for Lifting purposes: frequently using machinery and tools need to move or lift equipment while diagnosis or repairs are being performed.

· Posture: Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing

· Hand and arm movements: Using hands to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms

· Vision: Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

· Other: Quick, precise adjustments to machine controls, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to react quickly using hands, fingers, or feet

Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $38.00 per hour
