Heavy Equipment Operator – SWI Excavating LLC (Denver, CO)

Pay: $28–$35/hour + Overtime

We’re a locally owned heavy civil contractor that’s been shaping Colorado since 1997. We specialize in earthwork, utilities, grading, and demolition projects across the Denver Metro and Front Range.

We’re looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator who takes pride in their work, runs safe, and helps the team finish strong every day.

Responsibilities:

• Operate excavators, loaders, dozers, scrapers, skid steers, graders, and compactors
• Read grade stakes, blueprints, and plans to complete work to spec
• Use grade control systems to achieve tight tolerances
• Trenching for utility installs
• Earthwork Overlot & Grading operations
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Work safely around trenches, crews, and utilities
• Communicate clearly with foremen and crew members
• Jump in to help when needed with pipe laying, labor duties

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience operating heavy machinery in excavation or earthwork
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Physically able to lift 70 lbs and work outdoors in all weather
• Preferred: OSHA-10 and Trench Safety Competent Person certifications
• Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent

Schedule

Full-time | Monday–Friday | 10-hour shifts | 40–55 hrs/week
Weekend overtime available
