Heavy Equipment Operator

JD Site Development started as JD Thinning in 2008 with just a truck and a chainsaw. Today, JD Site Development operates year-round providing local hauling, commercial and residential excavation, demolition, utilities installation, and landscaping.

We are seeking skilled Equipment Operators, preferably experienced in water and sewer utilities installation on commercial jobsites.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Demonstrate proficient experience of various types of heavy machinery and equipment.

· Perform daily equipment inspections to ensure functionality and safety.

· Always adhere to safety procedures and regulations.

· Assist loading, chaining, and unloading equipment and material to and from job sites.

· Ensure work area is kept clean and organized to ensure safety and efficiency.

· Follow instructions from supervisors to ensure work is completed correctly and efficiently.

· Coordinate and establish clear communication with team members.

Qualifications:

Required

· Minimum of three (3) years of experience operating heavy machinery including excavators.

· Knowledge of safety standards and protocol.

· Ability to sit, stand, and walk on uneven ground at varying depths.

· Understand equipment maintenance procedures.

· Valid driver’s license and able to pass a background check.

Preferred

· Experience using a pipe laser.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

· Experience working on large commercial jobs.

· Completion of an apprenticeship or certification.

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
