Duties

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension components, and other heavy truck systems using schematics and technical manuals.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, wheel alignments, and HVAC system servicing to ensure vehicles meet safety standards.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication skills to repair or modify heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers.
• Interpret technical schematics and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics accurately.
• Engage in heavy lifting tasks safely while handling large components or equipment repairs involving welding or assembly processes.
• Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle or piece of equipment serviced; document repairs performed and parts used for accountability and future reference.
• Assist with preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of fleet assets.

Skills

• Proven dealership experience with heavy trucks or similar automotive repair backgrounds.
• Strong mechanical knowledge across diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension systems, HVAC units, and tire service.
• Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of customizing or repairing heavy equipment parts.
• Familiarity with schematics interpretation for electrical systems; experience with automotive diagnostics tools is essential.
• Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts or farm machinery is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform precise alignment work and hydraulic system repairs; knowledge of power tools usage is required.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repairs or maintenance needs; team-oriented mindset with a focus on safety compliance.
