Heavy Truck Mechanic

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing diesel engines, with experience in various types of machinery including farm equipment, crane systems, and tractor-trailers. This role requires a hands-on approach to diagnosing mechanical issues and performing repairs to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Perform tire service, including installation, rotation, and balancing.
• Work with hydraulic systems to ensure proper functionality.
• Operate forklifts and other machinery safely while performing repairs.
• Utilize hand tools effectively for various repair tasks.
• Weld components as necessary to repair or fabricate parts.
• Maintain farm machinery, ensuring all systems are operational.
• Inspect and repair tractor-trailer systems, including suspension and braking systems.
• Assist in the operation of cranes for heavy lifting tasks as needed.
• Document all repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles and equipment.

Skills

• Proficient in tire service techniques.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and their maintenance.
• Ability to use hand tools effectively for mechanical repairs.
• Welding skills for metal fabrication and repair work.
• Familiarity with farm machinery operations and maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of tractor-trailer mechanics, including suspension systems.
• Capability to operate cranes safely for lifting heavy components or equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnostics and repairs.
