Children and families thrive when they can access the resources they need—when, where, and how they need them. Help Me Grow King County (HMGKC) connects families with children from prenatal development to age five, especially those facing systemic barriers, to community-rooted and linguistically responsive support. HMGKC operates as a Coordinated Access Network made up of local community-based organizations (Family Connection Partners) who provide warm connections and direct support, not just referrals, and walk alongside families as they navigate systems and services. The Help Me Grow Contract & Project Manager will focus on strengthening systems that connect families to resources and services through the Help Me Grow (HMG) network. The position manages contracts, oversees the processes of payments and analysis, and drives program success while ensuring equity-driven contracting practices. They monitor performance, provide culturally responsive technical assistance to community partners, and collaborate with program managers to create data visualizations, evaluate outcomes, and coordinate capacity-building activities. The position will ensure infrastructure and partner communication is up to date including lists of available services and ensuring website communication is accurate. The position directly contributes to the success of programs that empower children, families, and caregivers across King County. Help Me Grow (HMG) is a strategy that is part of the Prenatal-5 Team within Best Starts for Kids and is within Seattle King County Public Health. The HMG team works closely with other strategies supporting supports for families prenatal to 5. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Contract Management Process and Infrastructure ImplementationDevelop, implement, and improve contracting tools and processes with an equity focus. Collaborate with Community Health Services (CHS) contract and financial staff to refine procedures and templates (e.g., budgets, invoices, reports). Provide culturally responsive technical assistance to community partners for accurate and timely contract deliverables. Coordinate with central finance and compliance teams and maintain feedback loops with grantees. Support access to resources by analyzing, evaluating and improving both inline and in person processes. Support outreach and relationship-building with community partners to increase awareness of Help Me Grow services and maintain accurate partner resource information, including coordinating updates to referral and community resource databases.Contract Monitoring and Payment Review contracts, financial, and programmatic reports to evaluate performance, approve payments, and process invoices. Follow up on incomplete requirements and resolve performance issues with Best Starts Program Managers and community partnersConduct site reviews/monitoring visits to ensure high-quality, outcome-based services for children and families. Project Management Initiate and create structures to ensure effective project management. In response to community partners and in collaboration with HMG Strategy Leads, develop accessible tools to ensure projects and priorities are moving forward. Develop documentation and project plans to ensure the HMG strategy is evolving in response to lessons learned over time and community feedback. Teaming Actively support the Prenatal-to-Five Team or the Help Me Grow Team, fostering collaboration, equity, and continuous learning.Research and Data Visualization Support Create dashboards and data visualizations to support program evaluation and decision-making. Review literature on policy and practice, conduct qualitative coding, and assist in data collection activities. Coordinate stakeholder involvement in evaluation activities with Best Start for Kids Strategy Leads and the evaluation team. Program Support Coordinate meetings and capacity-building activities for awardees, including scheduling, logistics, and documentation. Support receiving feedback from community partners in order to refine vision and direction for HMG. Program Support: In partnership with P-5 Program Managers, coordinate meetings and capacity-building activities for awardees, including scheduling, booking space, ordering food, preparing materials, and documenting activities. The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Some evening and weekend work may be required to meet program demands. This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime. Work LocationThis position is located at the Chinook Building, 401 5th Ave, Seattle, WA 98104. Remote and Onsite WorkThe team works in a hybrid model, with days in the office as well as telecommuting. This position will be onsite 3 days a week.Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.King County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support working remotely. The individual selected for this opportunity will join an innovative and progressive team that is redefining how we work as we transition to the department's hybrid environment.
