Helpdesk Technician

Purpose: Provides and coordinates the first line of technical assistance, repairs, and computer moves for all Jayco computers.

Essential Functions

  • Provides 1st level of support for helpdesk requests through phone and email
  • Assist in the coordination to repair and support all hardware/software across Jayco’s locations
  • Executes installation and configuration procedures
  • Engages & collaborates with other IT team members to insure issue resolution
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, & offer viable solutions to various hardware and software problems
  • Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
  • Manage and maintain the helpdesk ticketing system and knowledge base running Microsoft System Center
  • Participate in executing IT supported rollouts and upgrades of software and hardware
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience/ Knowledge

  • 1-2 years of providing system support experience
  • Associates degree in technology related field which can be substituted by MCSA or other specialized training (A+, CompTIA)
  • Windows 11+ and Office 365

Necessary Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of operating systems
  • Strong organizational skills to keep track of ongoing issues and notes
  • Patience, understanding, and empathy with customers at all times
  • Ability to troubleshoot common problems
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Work Requirements

  • This position may require sitting, standing, working in front of a computer monitor in an office setting approximately 80% of the day and occasionally, working in a hot, humid manufacturing environment.
  • Requires ability to occasionally travel between field locations.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • This position is a full-time position, which may require some flexibility in hours and days worked.
  • Regular attendance is required.
